Kullu-Manali is one of the most favorite and a famous hill stations in our country situated in Himachal Pradesh. Kullu and Manali both are different places at a distance of approximately 40 km. Kullu is a district in Himachal Pradesh, and Manali is a hill station in Kullu.

Kullu

It is also known as “VALLEY OF GODS.” The capital of the kullu district is located on the banks of the Beas river. Kullu is a broad open valley formed by the Beas river between Manali and Largi. Kullu is famous for temples, its incredible beauty, and attractive hills covered in pine and deodar forest. Also, apart from apple orchards, other varieties like plum, peach, apricot, pomegranates as well as nuts are grown in Kullu. Some famous temples of Kullu are Bijli Mahadev Temple, Bhehkhali Temple, Raghunath Temple. The town is 10 km away from Bhutnar Airport. 

Manali

Manali is a hill station in Kullu, cozied up in between the snow-capped slopes of Pir Panjal and the Dhauldhar ranges. It is one of the most popular hill stations in the country. It has scenic beauty and also famous for its adventurous activities, which can be performed on Solang valley and Rohtang pass. Manali has heart-throbbing views, dense green forest, fields covered with flowers. Manali is a perfect go-to place for every nature and adventure lover.

Best Timings For Visiting Kullu-Manali

Although the whole year is good for traveling to Kullu-Manali, it depends on what you want to experience. Like, if you want to enjoy both the day and night at Kullu-Manali, then March-May is the best timing to visit for, and if you’re going to enjoy the snowfall, then December-February is the best timing to visit for. Skip visiting during July-September because of the risk of landslides.

Popular Attractions Of Kullu-Manali

Rohtang Pass

High mountain pass around 51km from Manali, located at the eastern PirPanjal range of the Himalayas. Famous for its scenic beauty, fascinating sights of glaciers, peaks, Lahaul valley, and the Chandra river, photography, and adventure.

Solang Valley

Also called as “SOLANG NALA,” surrounded by the beautiful slopes, located at the top of Kullu valley, Famous for adventure sports like zorbing, horse riding, etc., the Best time to visit Solang valley is between the months of December to February.

Great Himalayan National Park(GHNP)

It is one of India’s national parks located in Kullu region, a beautiful habitat of flora and fauna, also known as Jawahar Lal Nehru National Park, blessed with flora like oak, blue pine, deodar, etc. and fauna like snow leopard, musk deer, blue sheep, wolf, etc.

Hadimba Temple

Locally known as Dhungari temple located in Manali, this temple is dedicated to Hadimba Devi, wife of Bhima(a figure in Mahabharata). It is around 466 years old. Famous for seeking blessing from Goddess Hadimba and Hadimamela organized in the mid of may every year.

Naggar Castle

A historical place museum in naggar, made of stone and wood, residence place of Raja Sidh Singh, Jab we met movie shooting took place in this castle.
